Mixing System

The Mixing Page is the heart of the Layers plugin, where all the layers, textures, and sounds converge to create the final output. This is where your creative choices come together, providing the ultimate control over the sound, ensuring everything blends harmoniously.

  1. Mixing Console

On the left side of the Mixing Page, you’ll find the comprehensive mixing console that provides full control over gain staging within the plugin. Each of the three main layers—A, B, and C—has its dedicated set of gain sliders:

  • In (Input Gain): Controls the dry signal level of each layer before any effects or processing are applied, allowing you to shape the raw sound at its source.
  • Out (Output Gain): Adjusts the output level of each layer after all effects and processing have been applied, providing precise control over the final processed sound.
  • FX (FX Send): Manages the amount of each layer’s signal sent to the master FX network, giving you the flexibility to blend effects into the mix to taste.
  1. Master Settings

On the right side, you’ll find the Master Settings, where the final shaping and refining of the combined sound takes place:

  • Master EQ: A powerful tool for shaping the final tonal balance of the overall mix, allowing you to fine-tune frequencies and ensure your sound fits perfectly in any context.
  • Compressor/Limiter: Two essential dynamics processors designed to glue the layers together into a cohesive whole. The compressor can add punch and consistency, while the limiter ensures that no peaks exceed the maximum level, preventing unwanted clipping and distortion. Both can be activated simultaneously for complete dynamic control.
  • Master Gain: The final gain control for the entire plugin, offering precise adjustment of the overall output level.
  1. Sample Location Panel

Additionally, a small panel is provided to set the sample location on the user’s operating system, ensuring a seamless workflow by letting users quickly navigate and organize their sound files.
