Meet Citrus Crusher a simple yet powerful plugin focused on quickly and easily pixelating, compressing, and degrading your audio to sound like it was transported back into the early 2000s. Unlike a regular bit-crusher effect this effect degrades audio and compresses it simultaneously . Bit-crushing and compression together can create unique and interesting sound textures and character. The combination of reduced bit depth and compression can produce gritty, lo-fi, or vintage sounds that may not be achievable with either effect alone.

Here is a screenshot of Citrus Crusher opened in DAW. There are four main knobs that can be used to easily and quickly control the effect.
Main Knobs
Soak:
Soak controls the master dry/wet of the overall Citrus Crusher effect.
Crush:
Crush controls the intensity of the overall pixelating effect. This effect is a combination of pixelation, downsampling, and compression resulting in a uniquely textured audio output. As you turn the knob, you’ll dial in the degree of this distinct crushing effect, altering the audio’s character with ease.
Filter:
This knob controls the post filter cutoff. Citrus Crusher comes with 3 built in filter cutoffs. These filters can be activated by selecting one of the relative presets:
Default – Bandpass Filter
Default – Lowpass Filter
Default – Highpass filter
Reverb:
This knob governs the feedback of the built-in reverb effect. The reverb effect enriches the sound by infusing it with warmth and spaciousness, enhancing its character and evoking a nostalgic vibe. Adjusting this knob allows you to tailor the level of reverberation to suit your desired audio ambiance.
Freeze:
The “Freeze” button is a unique feature that captures and holds the incoming audio, essentially creating a frozen playback of the sound. The freeze button adds to the essence of digital art, of pixelation and glitches.
