Installation and Activation
Before making music with Layers you must properly install and setup the necessary software. Be sure to follow each step to avoid issues and conflicts.
Downloading Necessary Assets
After purchasing your license, you will receive two types of download links: one for the software installer and one for the sample library. Both files must be fully downloaded before you can begin installing the software.
We recommend having at least 10GB of free disk space while downloading. The samples folder is 5GB unzipped.
Your provided download links will feature a simple step by step process on how to fully download these files.
- Download and run the software installer. This will install the VST, AU, and AXX files onto your system.
- Download the sample library and move it to a safe location. You can store it on an external hard drive if you prefer. Once you’ve placed it in your desired location, ensure it remains there.
- Open your DAW and scan for new plugins
Pointing Layers To The Sample Library
When you first open Layers in your DAW you will be presented with a screen asking you to point the samples library to the plugin. When presented with this screen click the “Choose samples folder” button. This will open up a finder window where you will select your samples folder location.
- Open plugin in DAW
- Click “Choose samples folder”
- Locate and select your samples folder location

Activating The Plugin
Once you successfully point the plugin to your samples folder you will be presented with a license key page. Simply copy and paste your license key into the text box. Make sure you copy your license key exactly. Do not add additional characters or spaces. Your license keys can be found via the license keys tab in your account
Once successfully activated your plugin will be ready for use. You may need to re-load it after successfully activating it.
