All of our current instrument plugins follow the same installation process. Most installation issues are caused by a missed step during installation.
01 — Confirm Your DAW Supports the Plugin Format
Clark Audio plugins are available in:
Windows: VST3, VST2
macOS: VST3 and AU
Your DAW must support one of these formats.
If your DAW does not support VST3 or AU plugins, the plugin will not appear and is not compatible with that DAW.
02 — Make Sure the Plugin Was Installed Correctly
Run the Clark Audio installer for your operating system and complete the full installation.
Do not manually move or rename installed plugin files unless specifically instructed.
If you are unsure whether the installation completed correctly, run the installer again.
03 — Restart Your DAW
If your DAW was open while you installed the plugin, completely close it and reopen it.
Many DAWs will not recognize newly installed plugins until they are restarted.
04 — Rescan Your Plugins
Open your DAW’s plugin settings and perform a plugin rescan / refresh.
Some DAWs may call this:
Rescan Plugins
Refresh Plugin List
Scan for New Plugins
Reset & Rescan
Wait until the scan is completely finished.
05 — Check the Correct Plugin Category
Make sure you are looking in the correct location inside your DAW.
Depending on your DAW, the plugin may appear under:
VST3
Audio Units / AU
Instruments (all instrument plugins show here)
Effects (all FX plugins show here)
Also try searching directly for the plugin name.
If you have confirmed that your DAW supports VST3 or AU, successfully installed the plugin, restarted your DAW, and completed a full plugin rescan, you may report the problem below.
