Lofi Panda started back in 2019. It started mostly as an idea. At the time, I was on contract with several companies, making original loops and samples for catalogs and packs.

During that time, I was searching for authentic acoustic instruments. But I didn’t want clean or basic. I wanted sounds that had character. Texture. Slight imperfections that made it clear the instruments had history and the musician was human.

At the time, this didn’t exist. Plenty of synth plugins were on the market. Libraries and sampled plugins had a wide range of instruments but lacked that character. That feeling.

So I pulled together some of my closest composers and musicians I worked with and began creating acoustic samples.

We recorded their oldest and most character-rich instruments. And we recorded everything. Slight imperfect noises of fingers hitting keys. All the small details that made it real.

At the time,  there were only about 8 instruments sampled in this version. And to be honest, I really only made the plugin for myself, to help me make more realistic and emotional samples. But once I released it online, it started to take off.

People shared how much they loved it and kept requesting more sounds, more features etc.

Getting this reaction sparked motivation and I decided I was going to take this one plugin and make it the absolute best I possibly could.

Since then, various updates have come out. What went from a simple plugin with a small amount of instruments grew into what it is today with over 200 sampled instruments. Not only that, but I read and have always read all user feedback, making sure I always implement changes people want.

Lofi Panda™ is so much more than a “lofi” plugin. It’s a movement. A vibe. A statement. Especially now, in a world full of AI, Lofi Panda™ has turned into the human plugin. A plugin where multiple humans come together to share and record their oldest and most character-rich instruments. A plugin that listens to people’s feedback and responds back.
